Sorry for the delay in this post. I've been having difficulty posting with my photos. So since I'm over a month late in getting this posted I am opting to post this and add photos later.
Saturday, August 2, we arrived at Eastland Mall around 6:30 a.m. It was quite the site as there were all the shuttles, vans and runners for St. Jude. We start at Eastland Mall and make our way to Peoria. The majority of the run is done through small towns and in the country. It's amazing the people who come out to support this, but yet I wish more people would come out to watch and cheer. Thankfully there are police escorts in front of and behind the pack to keep everyone safe. Many towns even have their firetrucks waiting to escort us through as well. It's truly a sight to see so many come together for one great cause. It brings tears to my eyes even remembering the day. There are even a few people, whom have been personally touched by St. Jude, that make numerous stops throughout the day to offer fruit and water and show support for all the runners. Once you get into Peoria everyone gets cleaned up, puts on the same shirt for their team, lines up with all the other teams and runs into the civic center. They have a nice dinner for everyone and then we get to do the check presentation. Our group raised over $200,000 this year! AMAZING!! I have to say if anything can motivate someone to run it was this day. Those that know me have heard me many times say "I am not a runner" or "I don't run". Having said that you just may see me "run" next August! Brad ran a total of 19 miles this year! He felt great the whole day. Thanks again to everyone who donated money to our cause. We so appreciate it as do the many families who are aided by St. Jude everyday!
Side note: On the day of our ran a young girl named Haley was there to support her Dad. He was running to support her, as she is a St. Jude patient. Well things with Haley have been progressing well, but the family has recently found out one of their son's has been diagnosed with the same form of cancer. There are so many cases such as these, please always remember the precious children of St. Jude in your prayers.

Sounds like a big success! Yay for Brad-I can't believe he ran 19 total miles. That's crazy! And yay for you for supporting him and supporting such a great cause.
Hope you're all doing well!
